• 65% of businesses offer severance to all employees, an increase of nearly 20 percentage points since 2019
• employers are 3.5 times more likely than those in other industries to offer severance to employees with less than one year of service time
• 83% of companies said they’re looking to retain high performers when a layoff is imminent, with the fewest concerned about retaining people with in-demand skills or leadership potential
• under 50% of employers provide outplacement, and nearly 80% have programs in place to protect employer brand, the most of any industry surveyed
